The prestigious Tanz im August International Festival will present the world première of Monument 0.7 - M/Others, a new piece by artist and choreographer Eszter Salamon, laureate of the Evens Arts Prize 2019. The performance will take place from August 10 to 12 on the premises of the St. Elisabeth-kirche in Berlin Mitte.
Salamon's work explores human relations as radical points of resistance, focusing on female subjectivities and feminist genealogies. "This is the second time I have asked my mother to perform with me", explains the artist. "The duet between my mother and myself occasions empathy, care and compassion, and through sensual attention, it experiments with a poetic weaving of oscillating meaning. Such a cohabitation and constant reconfiguration of our bodies’ entanglement becomes a process of undoing-redoing identity, creating a moment of ‘co-emergence’: being and being with, and witnessing the time-space beyond identity.
